Building A Profitable Website (Part 5): Social Media

Posted in Design By Guest

Many people get confused about the concept of social media marketing for their websites. After all, social media is comprised of blogs, social networking sites, video marketing sites and more. These are all places on the web that can take people away from your website, right? Well, they do if you’re not working on your social media marketing. If you are working on your social media marketing, these are all places on the web that can bring traffic directly to you.

So how do you get on board with social media marketing? Start a blog. In addition, write guest posts for other blogs. It’s all about getting the word out about what it is you do and where you do it. If you are a chiropractor in Folsom, for instance, you’ll want to find as many ways to link back to your website with the words ‘chiropractic Folsom’. This is done by submitting blogs with those embedded keywords and backlinks, spreading the word on MySpace and Facebook and creating videos to send out on YouTube and other video websites, etc.Building A Profitable Website (Part 5): Social Media

The concept behind social media marketing is that of inviting your customers into your conversation. No longer are you just talking at them, you’re talking with them. They can tell you what they want which is priceless information for any business owner to have. You’ll know what to fix, where to find your potential customers and how to be as appealing as possible to them. You’ll keep them updated on all your special offers, new products and various changes in your business. It’s almost as if your customers are now literally your friends because when you speak, they can speak back. Indeed, it’s a great opportunity to bring in more traffic and therefore more sales to your website by participating in social media marketing. In fact, it’s nearly as essential as SEO and PPC marketing practices.

Only websites that have a well rounded marketing approach will reach their profitability potential. Gathering potential customers from all corners of the web is what every website owner should be seeking after. This is something that is possible for everyone to achieve and it’s also something you can get started on today. So do it and reach make your websites’ true profitability potential.

online marketing is definitely the way to go and social media is absolutely a big part of it. you know facebook and twitter are one of my top sources of traffic. news submission also helps a great deal, especially on those sites that create lists of submitted links and post them on the site with dofollow backlinks. guest posting also gets me some traffic. not much though, but i do it for the cash anyway so it works both ways =)

nice series. touches on very important notes every blogger and site owner should be aware of if they wanna stay on top of their game!

Yeah social networking sites are awesome for getting targeted traffic, and for our design-photography there are many sites to submit our article for more exposure! I loved to use all of these ways :)

Thanx for this nice articles! Very useful! I read all 5 parts and as I'm just about to renew our company website it's a very big help!

Do you know a good article about something like: The "MUST-HAVE-FREE-TOOLS" for a website? Something like commenting with facebook, sharing-tool for the Social Networks, ...? That would be helpful!

Hi, I am glad to know that you loved our guest author's article series. You can just Google something like "must have free tools for website" and you will get many good articles explaining each essential tool, if you are using WordPress for your website then there are many Plugins for showing social icons or you can use simple codes generated by Addthis.com or Sharethis.com

Good post and absolutely correct.

Working across a wide variety of small business verticals, we are often asked about social media marketing in addition to mobile marketing, but it seems many small business owners have fallen prey to the hype that basic SEO "isn't necessary" anymore and often don't seem to realize that sending traffic elsewhere can have a detrimental effect on the bottom line.

I'll definitely be passing this post on.
