Why house wives should blog?

Housewife blog

This is a very informal letter addressed to all my friends who are busy making there home all day long. But, you men out here this is for you too.  You have been a loving son, a loving brother and a loving husband, now it’s time to inspire your home making mom, sister and your lovely wife to look at the world through the window of web. How? Read on.

I was surfing net trying to find out the exact definition for the term HOUSE WIFE and this is what I found- a married woman who manages her own household, especially as her principal occupation.

Now this is interesting. I being a house wife myself did know that I was into some occupation. While there were many more definitions around, this was the one which lifted my spirits high. There are so many people, men and women alike who are into some kind of occupation and yet cherish their hobbies. When it’s possible and okay with their occupations then why not for a house wife and her occupation called home making? Having said this I also understand the fact that some women are already living their hobbies such as sewing, embroidery, crafts, singing, dancing, cooking and baking, so many and so forth.

Well, I still don’t see a lot of women opening up for what is called as technology or being more specific the computer technology which is the need of the hour. I know the situation is no more the same as decades back. Women are getting empowered and the female literacy is increasing but, what about computer literacy for women? Computer knowledge is not just confined to mailing to hubby, chatting with friends, watching movies, socializing on facebook and blah blah. There is more to it.

One such trend is blogging. It’s not just about catching the trend and being in the crowd. Blogging for women and specifically for house wives is about showcasing yourself or a form of expression. It’s about getting techie, acquiring knowledge, it’s about penning down yourself, it’s about throwing out your views, and here the list goes on…..

Blogging for house wife is about gaining as well as giving. For the next few minutes you will travel with me here on this show below by just clicking PLAY first and then NEXT every time you are done with reading the screen.

My personal experience: I started my blog haveyourshareofhoney just to kill time and for fun. I had least idea about what a blog actually can do to me. I was very irregular in posting and took it very lightly until July 2010. Then I discovered the concept of blog directories and things changed drastically. I found many interesting blogs, made friends with like minds, interacted through each other’s comment boxes, even discussed like problems trying to solve it. Now there is no looking back. I am shortly going to buy a domain and get a website for myself. What I feel like at the moment is my blog rocks and with that me as well.

My little advice to all my friends busy with home making is that start your blog today. And my promise is, it is not at all difficult and sites like MachoArts make it much easier for you as a beginner as it did for me. As I plan a sequel for this post keep yourself updated on twitter (Pinky_bn).

I completely agree with you pinky. But how many women will have the interest to blog at there homes. Most of them do while they work or while they are paralyzed people think that they cant manage home, children and blogging at a time. As all the tasks are very tough and must be balanced equally. :) i hope people will come out with good blogging soon. Thanks for the nice post. i have to show this to my friends Isha Shri :D

Hi Satish.
I understand. But while many working ladies out there can manage work-life efficiently even after being bound by a boss then why not a house wife? After all she will be the one to decide on her time, rules and more over she is her own boss. Any way I am going address the same issue in the sequel. Thanks.

Hey Rohan.
Thank you. But its not the question of filling the ‘dearth of wit in bloggosphere’
rather its about filling the ‘dearth of wit in self’! What say?

yup ! agreed ! a blog is a natural expression of ones self ,and i completely agree with you and if i had to amend my words i would certainly say the same is true for honesty and integrity . I see a lot less of honest blogs now a days and a lot of blogs that look more like salesmen selling their shiny affiliates. Very tough to find some bloggers with a conscience in this era of paid reviews.
